In Memoriam: Dan Parise, 61

NEW YORK – Dan Parise, CEO & president of Diversified Production Services (dps-us.com), who had organized and managed notable concerts and tours with top artists over a three-decade span, died Aug. 24 from a heart attack. He was 61. Parise served as Live Nation’s director of production and created its Special Events Division, and he continued producing major events after launching DPS in Weehawken, NJ in 2011.

Canada’s Day of Visibility for the Live Event Community Set for Sept. 22

CANADA – The Canadian Institute of Theatre Technology (CITT/ICTS) shared an open letter posted on LiveEventCommunity.org proposing that Canadian companies light buildings red to communicate a “red alert” to the plight faced by the live event industry for a “Day of Visibility” on Sept. 22. The initiative follows similar events in Europe, the U.K., South Africa and Australia earlier this summer, along with the forthcoming awareness-raising campaign in the USA on Sept. 1.
