Performance of ‘Blue Danube Waltz’ Transmitted to Space

VIENNA – After first taming some acoustic challenges at Vienna’s Museum of Applied Arts, tonzauber’s Georg Burdicek used a Lawo mc²36 MkII console as Johann Strauss II’s “Blue Danube Waltz” was being performed. While marking 200- and 50-year milestones for the Strauss composition and the European Space Agency (ESA), the music was also sent into outer space via ESA’s DSA 2 ground station in Cebreros, Spain.

2025 American Music Awards Ceremony Gets Support from Shure

LAS VEGAS – The 51st edition of the American Music Awards ceremony was broadcast and streamed live on ABC and Paramount+ from the BleauLive Theater at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas on May 26. A variety of Shure technologies played key roles, including Shure’s Axient Digital Wireless System and the custom ADX2FD and AD2s with KSM8 capsule used by host and performer Jennifer Lopez.

Sound Design Winners at 78th Annual Tony Awards

NEW YORK – The 78th Annual Tony Awards returned to Radio City Music Hall June 8, 2025. The production was broadcast live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+. Jonathan Deans won the Tony for Best Sound Design of a Musical (“Buena Vista Social Club”) and Paul Arditti won for Best Sound Design of a Play (“Stranger Things: The First Shadow”).
