BARCELONA – Zentralmedia, SSL’s distribution partner in Spain and Portugal, provided an SSL L200 Plus console for Sala Salamandra, an 800-capacity club venue that has been operating in Barcelona’s L’Hospitalet del Llobregat district since it opened in 1996.
PULA, Croatia – To improve sound clarity at Pula’s Church and Monastery of St. Francis, Renkus-Heinz distributor LAV Projekt provided Iconyx Compact ICC36/3 active digital beam-steerable loudspeakers for the nave and sanctuary areas.
LONDON – Ben Evans, audio operations manager at London’s Royal Albert Hall, noted how DiGiCo consoles serve as the control center for the iconic venue’s audio systems. A Quantum 852, Quantum 7, SD10, SD9 and SD11 are all owned by the venue. Sound designer Tom Marshall, who has mixed numerous shows at the venue, also spoke favorably about the control setup.
TOKYO – Opened in 1997, Sumida Triphony Hall is home to the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra and hosts performances ranging from traditional Rakugo storytelling to jazz concerts. A recent upgrade included an L-Acoustics Kara II system.
BEIJING – The theatrical production “Going Rural” made its debut at the China National Opera House this fall. The audio setup featured an immersive L-Acoustics L-ISA configuration with a BlackTrax tracking system.
PRZYSUCHA, Poland – This fall, SKS Oskar Przysucha Municipal Stadium reopened after a big renovation project. Among the upgrades: a new RCF P Series sound system, designed and implemented by Tommex, RCF’s distributor for Poland specializing in installation projects.
LISBON, Portugal – Sport Lisboa e Benfica (SLB or Benfica), a multi-sport group best known for its soccer team, worked with Decimagem and Clear-Com to upgrade the communications system within 65,000-capacity Estádio da Luz, a major stadium in Lisbon that opened in 2003.
Founded in Ibiza in 1973, the international club brand Pacha has had a presence in Munich’s city centre since 2000. As is the case for its other sites around the globe, the Munich venue regularly hosts world-famous DJs from the techno and house scene including Sven Väth, Fat Boy Slim, DJ Hell, and Carl Cox. Naturally, given the club’s status, it’s audio system is of the utmost importance.
