NEWNAN, GA — LaDon Findley, principal and chief sound designer at Performa Technologies, Millbrook, AL, might have needed more than a simple “speaker on a stick” strategy to cover the entire football field at Newnan High School’s Drake Stadium. But he didn’t need more than one speaker — a sole Danley Jericho Horn JH-90. For the “stick,” Findley worked with StressCrete to design a custom pole on which to mount the 700-plus pound JH-90.

BOULDER, CO — Industry veteran Danny Abelson announces the formation of Zeehi LLC, a new company dedicated to developing solutions to improve the workflow of entertainment production professionals. Zeehi’s management includes other industry veterans with experience in audio and lighting product design, production management and fixed installations. Zeehi’s first entertainment technology solution, CueCast, will debut this summer.

NEW YORK — L&M Sound & Light CEO Lou Mannarino, who also serves as live audio engineer for the New York Philharmonic,  recently expanded his company’s inventory with the addition of an L-Acoustics KIVA system. It was quickly put into service supporting a number of high-profile events.

NEW YORK — Working with Yorke Construction, design firm JaffeHolden and Tri-State AV union electricians, Masque Sound provided a new sound system for Lincoln Center’s 112-seat Claire Tow Theatre. The installation includes speakers from Meyer Sound, a Soundcraft Vi1 Console, a Clear-Com communications system, QSC amplifiers, a Mackie 1202-VLZ3 compact mixer and cabling infrastructure and stage boxes.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — The GURUS of Tech conference, a free-to-attend educational event sponsored by Church Media Design that covers audio, video and lighting production within houses of worship, took place at the Willow Creek Community Church here May 22-23. The event brought together nearly 1,000 worship leaders and church staff members from all over the country who shared the common goal of improving their services to offer the best possible worship environments.

WILMINGTON, DE — St. Mark’s Lutheran Church got its start with Lutheran neighbors meeting in a fire hall in 1942. Then, after establishing a physical church of its own, a fire swept through the sanctuary and destroyed most of the worship area some 30 years ago.

LAS VEGAS — The Parnelli Board of Advisors has announced that Joe Branam, owner of Branam Enterprises, will receive the Parnelli Visionary Award at the annual gala dinner and award ceremony in Las Vegas. The event is set for Oct. 20, 2012 at the Mirage Resort and Casino.
