IATSE President Calls on Congress to Pass Relief Package That Includes Entertainment Workers

NEW YORK – In mid-March, as major entertainment venues were closing and concert tours were being canceled, Matthew D. Loeb, international president of the IATSE, called on the Federal government to pass a relief package that prioritizes workers whose incomes have been lost as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. He appealed for measures that would continue health coverage and extend unemployment, disability, and workers compensation insurance coverage along with a special emergency paid leave benefit that would include IATSE members.

DAS Audio Issues COVID-19 Advisory Against In-Person Meetings at Company Facilities

Shaun Clair Joins Parnelli Board of Advisors

LAS VEGAS – Shaun Clair, third generation member of the Clair audio family, has joined the Parnelli board of advisors. At 36, he is the Parnelli board’s youngest member. Shaun is the son of Troy Clair, Clair Global CEO, and the grandson of the late Gene Clair. Gene, with brother Roy, founded Clair Brothers in the 1960s. In 2008, the brothers received the Parnelli Audio Innovator Award.

Blue Man Group Tour Drums Up Excitement with L-ISA Hyperreal Sound System

ATLANTA – Although some of Blue Man Group’s tour dates this spring have been postponed or canceled due to COVID-19, as with other Cirque du Soleil owned productions around the world, tickets are on sale for shows this June. Cirque du Soleil Suspends Shows in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – On March 15, Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group announced that, in addition to cancellations and postponements to numerous shows worldwide, its shows in Las Vegas, which had been reduced from a twice-daily to one-show-a-day schedule in the previous week, would temporarily go dark. The shows include Mystère, O, Zumanity, KÀ, The Beatles LOVE, Michael Jackson ONE and Blue Man Group.

NEW YORK – One of the last big shows to take place at Madison Square Garden before the COVID-19 outbreak forced the closure of the venue in March was the March 10 concert featuring the final Allman Brothers Band lineup, dubbed “The Brothers.” They came together to mark the band’s half-century milestone (the original band was formed in 1969). The one-night show was powered by Meyer Sound solutions, including LEO and LYON linear line array loudspeakers, provided by rental partners UltraSound and PRG North America.
