Live Event Industry Takes Message to the Streets with Drive-Through Demonstration in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES – “One Voice: A Day for Action in Los Angeles,” a drive-through demonstration highlighting hardships faced by southern California’s live events industry, took place at L.A. Live’s Xbox Plaza from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 12. The event, produced by Sterling Events, was also organized and supported by the Live Events Coalition, the California Events Coalition and the National Independent Talent Organization.

Industry Urged to Sign Letter Calling for Support for Small Businesses and to Push for RESTART Act

WASHINGTON, DC – Bandit Lites chair Michael Strickland notes that as they await some good news from Washington, DC, members of the live events industry can act in tangible ways to push for a favorable outcome. On Aug. 10, he had two recommendations: to sign their names on a call to action issued by Howard Schultz, chairman emeritus at Starbucks, and to support the RESTART Act by contacting representatives in Congress.

Jan. 2021 Parnelli Event Canceled, but History of Awards Show to be Celebrated Online and in Print

LAS VEGAS – With great regret but a sense of the inevitable, Parnelli Awards executive producer Terry Lowe announced Aug. 10 that the Parnelli Awards event set for Jan. 22, 2021, will not take place. It would have been staged during the NAMM Show in Anaheim, which will also not take place as an in-person event due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

LOS ANGELES – As part of a multi-faceted renovation, Dodger Stadium upgraded with a new L-Acoustics K2 line source array sound system this summer.
