MANCHESTER, England – The match for the world boxing championship in front of an audience of 55,000 was amplified by “Butterfly”, the line array by Outline of Brescia (Italy). The contestants were Mexico’s Juan Lazcano and England’s Ricky Hatton (the latter won, thus retaining his IBO light-welterweight title).

BUENOS AIRES –Buenos Aires Live Show (B.A.L.S.) deployed a large JBL VerTec system for Rod Stewart’s recent concert at Velez Sarsfield Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The show was part of Rod Stewart’s current world tour supporting his latest release, “Still The Same…Great Rock Classics of our Time.”
 

LONDON – Björk’s current world tour uses some of the most cutting edge on-stage technology out there. Björk’s band includes Damian Taylor whose rig resembles the bridge of the Starship Enterprise and includes a Yamaha Tenori-on, which is displayed on large plasma screens to the wide-eyed crowds during the track “Who Is It?.” “Björk felt it would be cool to feature the gear,” says Damian, “ to make it part of the stage set rather than using abstract pre-recorded visuals and projections.”

DORTMUND, Germany – Promoter i-motion’s annual Mayday extravaganza draws clubbers from all over Germany to an all-night feast of cutting-edge music. This year’s event saw a new arena added to the event in Dortmund’s Westfalenhallen, which got off to the best possible start thanks to a large Turbosound audio rig.

SHEFFIELD, England –The Academy Music Group has opened its newest live music and club venue in Sheffield in the UK.  Although AMG has a chain of live clubs around the country, this is the first one that has been equipped with NEXO by Adlib Audio, the Liverpool-based touring and installation company.

MILAN – Some of Italy’s most elegant theatres hosted the “Anello Mancante Tour,” an intimate acoustical show by Sicilian singer and songwriter Carmen Consoli.A total of 16 Outline Butterfly CDH 483 Hi-packs and four Outline Subtech 218 SP amplified the notes of her intimate show for a few lucky spectators. 

CARACAS, VENEZUELA — Corporacion Dynaco C.A. recently provided sound reinforcement for an outdoor concert in Venezuela featuring Marc Anthony with JBL VerTec line arrays. The show took place at the University of Caracas baseball stadium and drew an audience of approximately 15,000 people.
 

SYDNEY – The network of HK AUDIO sound system users in Australia has grown. In late 2007, BE Productions, a company located in the north of Sydney, bought a 2 x 8 Cohefra Compact system comprising 16 CDR 108 C enclosures, eight CDR 210 C cabinets, and two PR 8 amp racks. This newcomer is the fifth firm on the continent to join the Cohedra user network.
 

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – Sydney Opera House is one of the most famous opera houses worldwide. The opera house has welcomed Sennheiser and Neumann as sound partners.

MEXICO CITY – With a capacity of over 114,000, Mexico City’s legendary Estadio Azteca is the fourth largest stadium in the World. Its 40-plus year history is storied with some of soccer’s most memorable events. Rental company Producciones Reforma (El Rayo) deployed an Electro-Voice sound reinforcement system for the shows, based around X-Line and XLC line array systems.

LONDON – At London’s Royal Opera House – one of the most famous opera theatres in the world and home of Britain’s prestigious Royal Opera and Royal Ballet companies – Britannia Row Productions’ Outline Butterfly was used as the "Front of House" system for sound reinforcement at the BAFTA ceremony, the British equivalent of the Oscars, awarded to personalities from the cinema and television world since 1947.
