LONDON — Turbosound’s Flashline Mini compact line array and large scale Flashline line array system will be set up for hands-on demos at 3 Mills Studios in London on Oct. 6 and 7, 2013. Attendance is by invitation only, however, so those interested are encouraged to RSVP at their earliest convenience.

PASAY, Philippines — Touring in support of its new album Living Things, Linkin Park brought its high-powered alt-metal-rap-rock to the Philippines, performing at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on August 13. Audio for the 20,000-seat arena was supplied by Manila-based tour sound contractor SoundCheck with a massive sound system featuring 128 Harman JBL VTX Series line array loudspeakers and subwoofers powered by 30 Crown VRACK amplifier systems.

JUÁREZ, Mexico – The Hardpop Club here draws prominent DJs and electronic musicians around the world. Over the past two years, the club has worked with North Carolina-based Clarity, Inc. to optimize its sound system. The changes including switching out its old sound system with new gear from Danley Sound Labs in a bid to obtain copious headroom, crystalline fidelity, and honest, chest-crushing bass.

LAUSANNE, Switzerland – For the the Interceltic Festival, held here, along with other festivals across Switzerland, various audio engineers relied upon several Allen & Heath iLive, GLD and Qu-16 digital mixing systems this past summer. HAMBURG, Germany – The fourth ELBJazz festival, staged here in late May, drew more than 15,000 visitors from 60 countries with a roster of well-known artists including singer/pianist Jamie Cullum, saxophonist Joshua Redman and Caravan Palace— along with guitarist Mary Halvorson, trumpeter NIls Petter Molvær and pianist Alexander von Schlippenbach. ProfiMusik from Lüneburg provided lighting and sound gear, including Alcons Audio.

JOHANNESBURG — The Gearhouse Group of Companies recently provided comprehensive technical support, in the form of audio, rigging, lighting, trussing, structures and power, for a new electronic dance production, Sensation Innerspace. The event took place at the Coca Cola Dome in Northriding, a Johannesburg suburb, on Sept. 7, 2013.

PARIS – Laurent Delenclos, who joined Harman’s distributor for France, SCV Audio, less than a year ago, has been working to support the growing usage of JBL VTX systems at major events throughout France. Three companies—Pan Pot, Echo Animation and Audio Scène—have made substantial investments in the platform, and the gear has been put to use at a variety of big events.

BRESCIA, Italy — For Mille Miglia, a re-enactment of the classic sports car races that were held from 1927 to 1957 with a circuitous route through the Italian countryside from Brescia, Italy to Rome’s Castel Sant’Angelo and back, rental company Acoustic Light provided Harman’s JBL VerTec line array systems for the start, mid-point and finish of the race.

SACRAMENTO, CA — David L. MacDonald conceived of Sacramento’s first “Best of Broadway” charity show in 1973. Since then, the volunteer troupe has raised money for various causes. Earlier this year, they performed The Cotton Patch Gospel in support of Sacramento Family Promise. Local audio engineer Michael Strange (pictured here), who served as sound designer for the production, relied upon gear from Lectrosonics.

SENIGALLIA, Italy — The Summer Jamboree is a festival of American Rockabilly and Swing music and culture from the 1940s and 1950s. The event, conceived and organized by the Cultural Summer Jamboree Association and promoted by the Municipality of Senigallia in collaboration with Regione Marche and private sponsors, has grown in popularity, and this year included four stages. Top Service, a rental company, provided four K-array KH15’s for the main stage and K-array KH4’s for two of the other stages.

BOLLULLOS DE LA MITACION, Seville, Spain — MFO Producciones, based here, recently took delivery of a Turbosound Flashline PA system including 24 TFS-900H four-way line array modules, 18 TFS-900B double 18-inch subwoofers and six complete amplifier racks. The gear was quickly put to use for a series of arena events during the month of August.

LINZ, Austria –MEB Veranstaltungstechnik, based here, provided Adamson speaker systems for this year’s five-day World Rowing Under 23 Championship held at Reggattastrecke Ottensheim in Linz-Ottensheim, Austria. MEB’s sound reinforcement covered the grandstand and boat prep areas along with the marketplace, on-site restaurant and VIP tents..
