LONG BEACH, CA – California Vibrations (Cali Vibes) drew 60,000 reggae fans to Marina Green Park in Long Beach, CA, with a festival audio assist from Smoke and Mirrors Productions’ diminutive Allen & Heath C1500 mixing console. It was paired with a DM48 MixRack to provide 48 mic/line inputs, 24 line outputs and access to the XCVI 160×64 FPGA core dLive power.

In Memoriam: Juan ‘JC’ Faxas, 59

Juan “JC” Faxas, formerly with the ADJ Group of Companies and a prominent figure within the MI industry community, died Feb. 12 at age 59. Born in Cuba, Faxas’ family brought him to the U.S. at age six. His lifelong love of music shaped his career, first working as a DJ during high school in the 1970s before joining Guitar Center and then, later in his career, ADJ.
