NEW YORK – The 2019 NYC Blackout had a much smaller impact on the city as a whole than the outage that struck exactly 42 years earlier, on July 13, 1977. Even so, New York’s busy live entertainment scene took a direct hit from the loss in power, which struck just before 7 p.m. on a midsummer Saturday night. LOS ANGELES – For four days in late April, more than 3,500 visitors experienced an immersive 35-minute art installation called “An Encounter with Lux Prima” that was conceived by Karen O and Danger Mouse. The 16 sessions were held at Marciano Art Foundation in Los Angeles, and they relied on a custom spatial sound system from Meyer Sound.
