PHILADELPHIA – While keeping a low profile is normally part of the job description, these are not normal times. Live event workers emerged from behind the scenes to push road cases around Philadelphia’s City Hall on Friday, July 24 to raise awareness of the industry’s dire need for financial support amid the continuing shutdown of mass gatherings due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Philadelphia rally, staged by about 60 live event workers, was organized by the Philadelphia chapter of the Live Events Coalition (www.liveeventscoalition.com), an organization that got its start in March with a petition for support from the federal government on Change.org.

The Philadelphia rally followed a demonstration organized by the Boston chapter of the Live Events Coalition on July 21. For more information on these events as reported by The Philadelphia Inquirer and Boston’s WCVB, go to www.plsn.me/LEC-Philly and www.plsn.me/LEC-Boston.
