GLENVIEW, Ill. — Gand Concert Sound of Glenview, Ill., has recently expanded its warehouse space by 50 percent.
President Gary Gand reports "We finally were able to scare our next-door neighbor out and have made a deal to take over their space, which is right on the other side of the wall." Remodeling was completed, adding a pass-thru from their location in warehouse suites A and B into C. In addition, office space and two bathrooms were reconfigured to provide more lounge area for clients.
The move was prompted by Gand's purchase of a third complete NEXO Geo T/Yamaha powered system earlier in 2008. Now home to one of the largest inventories of NEXO in the USA, "the NEXO guys" needed more space to stage gear for upcoming large-scale events.
Vice President Tim Swan said, "You can only play Rubic's Cube with trucks and trunks for so long before you start to go crazy!" Even with cases three high and cabinets towering like the Chicago skyline, working on the docks and in the trucks this winter was not an option. "We're calling it a quality-of-life investment." Gand said.
“We have seen some competition disappear in the Midwest market place and we are going to concentrate on expanding market share to make up for any downturn in the industry,’ he added.
