LONDON – Reinforcing a long-standing relationship built on trusted in-house design capabilities, the BRIT Awards chose to work with Britannia Row for a 30th year.
More details from Britannia Row Productions (www.britanniarow.com):
The UK music industry showcase asked ‘Global Success Award’ recipient Sabrina Carpenter to open the 2025 proceedings, followed by live sets from Sam Fender, JADE, Ezra Collective, Jorja Smith, Lola Young, Teddy Swims and Rising Star winners Myles Smith, and The Last Dinner Party.
The show’s audio delivery is overseen by Britannia Row Account Executive Tom Brown, with the sound system design created by Britannia Row’s Head of Engineering, Josh Lloyd.
“It’s a great way to see emerging acts coming through,” says Josh. “We’re committed to treating all incoming engineers equally, and providing an excellent service, making the event run smoothly for each artist’s team. It’s important that everyone feels comfortable, and the desire to do things well makes the BRITs such a well-delivered TV show.”
Josh, who also mixes the live acts continues: “We bring experienced crew into this event, including our monitor engineers. This year, Matt Napier (Madonna, Muse) and Marty Harrison were in these positions, who as well as having invaluable touring experience, also have extensive TV / promo experience and therefore total understanding of what artists and crews need from the other side.”
The L-Acoustics’ L2 was the box of choice again – following its world debut at the BRITs in 2022 – with production citing its light-weight benefits and lack of sonic compromise as the ideal PA system.
Josh furthers: “Weight saving for a busy TV show of this nature is a huge thing. Every year the set design changes, and every year we look at what makes sense for the design at hand. The BRITs has an amazing production management team that trusts us to get the audio right.”
Yamaha Rivage desks covered presenter consoles while DiGiCo control surfaces handled music performances at both ends of the snake. On the night, all artists were mixed by Josh, bar Sabrina Carpenter, where touring FOH Engineer, Dean Mizzi, took the reins.
Dean confirms Britannia Row’s new HQ provided ample BRITs prep: “The ability to step into the console bays and work in isolation really is a massive advantage in maximizing focus for prep time.”
Dean has worked across multiple TV awards shows, and notes that the best results are when the audio is “in, up and on as quickly as possible so that audio can follow the producer’s lead.”
He continues: “I watched the Brit Row team effortlessly handle multiple large bands throughout the rehearsals and then produce a world class product on the night. There is so much collective talent on staff with the BRITs audio team, that they let you focus on the integrity of your artist’s performance.
“Brit Row is the backbone of any successful BRITs performance… The years of experience running audio is clear from the outset; from their communication pre-event to the way you are greeted and prepared onsite, to the professionalism during the show. Josh Lloyd is the ultimate FOH mixer for this event and has a team of legendary people alongside him who are experts at deploying L-Acoustics rigs beyond expectation.”
