Ultra Music Festival Marks 20 Years, Buys Winter Music Conference

MIAMI – While marking 20 years, Ultra Music Festival once again drew six-figure crowds to Miami’s Bayfront Park with 175 of the top EDM and DJ acts in the world, performing on updated Main, Carl Cox and World stages March 23, 24 and 25. But 2018 also marked another milestone for the festival, which shares its brand with bass-heavy offshoots that now take place every year in more than 20 countries around the world. The festival’s owners purchased the Winter Music Conference (WMC), the venerable electronic music industry event from which Ultra sprang.

Berry Center Manages Multiple Venues with Allen & Heath

HOUSTON -The Richard E. Berry Educational Support Center recently updated its audio system with the installation of seven Allen & Heath dLive S Class Digital Mixing Systems and an ME Personal Mixing System. The Berry Center hosts close to 4,000 events in its five multi-purpose venues, including an arena, conference center, theater, and two stadiums, every year.

Next Parnelli Awards to be Held Jan. 25, 2019 – and at NAMM Through 2021

ANAHEIM, CA – No, it wasn’t a fluke. The partnership that helped bring the 17th annual Parnelli Awards gala to NAMM 2018 and Anaheim, CA this January has been extended at least to NAMM 2021, according to a mid-March agreement struck between Joe Lamond, NAMM president/CEO (pictured here, left) and FOH publisher and Parnelli Awards executive producer Terry Lowe (pictured right).

Jackson Browne Tours with DiGiCo

SARASOTA, FL – Schubert Systems Group has been supplying DiGiCo SD12 and SD9 consoles for Jackson Browne’s most recent shows, which alternate between acoustic gigs and performances with his eight-piece band. On a swing through the southeastern U.S. in January, an acoustic leg, Browne and bandmate Greg Leisz were joined by a couple of other familiar faces: FOH engineer Paul Dieter and Monitor Engineer Mark “Iggy” Niewiarowski (pictured here with the DiGiCo SD12).
