Spatialized Sounds with d&b Soundscape Enhance ‘Philadelphia Voices’

PHILADELPHIA – Specialized Audio Visual Inc. (SAVI) used d&b Soundscape to support Tod Machover’s Philadelphia Voices, part of his City Symphonies series, which was staged in April at Verizon Hall, within Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center. Ben Bloomberg, Machover’s technical and artistic collaborator, and the man charged with resolving the technical obstacles to Machover’s creative intent, spoke about the complexity of the project’s audio reinforcement challenge and how d&b’s Soundscape provided the “width and space” needed for the project.

Console Technology Shines at InfoComm 2018

LAS VEGAS – From June 2-8, InfoComm 2018 drew 43,000 AV pros to the Las Vegas Convention Center – 10 percent more than the last time InfoComm was held in Las Vegas, in 2016. Many were there to eye the latest in video tech and, on the audio side, intercoms, automation panels and transducers. For those mostly interested in live sound production, this year’s technology push seemed to be centered on mixing consoles.

OSA Supports Chicago Opera Production of “Jesus Christ Superstar” with Martin Audio

CHICAGO – The Lyric Opera of Chicago’s production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar featured a full complement of Martin Audio MLA Compact and CDD-LIVE supplied by OSA International, Inc. Originally staged in Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in London for what turned out to be a sold-out run, the production had to be completely reimagined for the Lyric Opera House’s high-ceiling space.
