Martin Audio Surrounds Roger Waters in Hyde Park

LONDON – Capital Sound provided a Martin Audio MLA/MLA Compact loudspeaker system for the sixth annual AEG Live’s Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time (BST) 10-day festival. Capital rigged the main stage and outfield identically to 12 months ago, with one major exception. Roger Waters brought his Us + Them show to the event, and Capital provided an additional 12 hangs of MLA/MLA Compact on towers positioned through the concourse for one night only. With 318 enclosures in total, this was the largest deployment of MLA at a festival anywhere in the world.

In Memoriam: Paul C. Morris, 65

WALNUT CREEK, CA – Paul Christian Morris, the president and founder of audio rep firm PCM Marketing, passed away last week from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Morris, at one time a guitarist with the SF Bay Area teen band “Jupiter Aerial Steame Carriage,” combined his passion for music and audio with his friendly, outgoing personality to form PCM Marketing in 1989. Morris is survived by his wife, Constance “Connie” Morris and sons Michael and Steven. He was 65.

Post Malone Tour Heard via Meyer Sound System

SAN FRANCISCO – Rapper/producer Post Malone recently finished the North American leg of his 2018 tour supporting his Beerbongs and Bentleys album with a Meyer Sound system. The typical setup included 14 LEO over four LYON-W per side, with six LYON-M over six LYON-W per side for delays. Eight Leopard and four UPJ-1P elements handled fills. VER also provided 30 1100-LFC (12 flown and 18 ground-stacked) for the low end.

Ryman Auditorium Installs Two New Yamaha Rivage Digital Audio Consoles

NASHVILLE – Nashville’s 2,300-seat Ryman Auditorium recently purchased two Yamaha Rivage PM7 Digital Audio Consoles. The venue’s FOH engineers, including Les Banks and Kevin McGinty, are pleased with the upgrade, and both are taking advantage of the PM7’s on-board Premium effects, Silk feature and Dante networking capabilities. Clair Solutions installed the consoles.
