Rochester, NY Church Rises from the Ashes with Fulcrum Acoustic DX Series System

ROCHESTER, NY – A Fulcrum DX Series coaxial loudspeaker system was installed in the newly built sanctuary at Saint Pius Tenth Parish’s church, which opened in March, three years after a fire destroyed the church’s previous location. The new sanctuary’s hard reflective surfaces and lack of acoustic treatment presented acoustical challenges, and system designer Joe Barone was also asked to not hang speakers below the archway at the sanctuary’s nave. He overcame those challenges with a setup that includes Fulcrum DX1577 and DX896 components.

Nipper Sound Provides PreSonus WorxAudio Loudspeakers for Back-to-School Charity Event

WYTHEVILLE, VA – PreSonus’ WorxAudio XLT1T-P line arrays, TL218SS subwoofers, and AIR12 / 15 point source loudspeakers were deployed by Nipper Sound of Draper, VA for Fusion 2018, a free event held July 28 at Withers Park in Wytheville, VA. With food, games, announcers and music, the event, launched in 2017 by Legacy Church and Crosswalk Church, was once again a success, drawing some 5,000 people and providing underprivileged kids with everything they need for back-to-school, from haircuts to backpacks stuffed with school supplies.

Pioneer Audio XY Series Speakers Deployed at EDC 2018

LAS VEGAS – For the stereoBLOOM stage and campgrounds at the 2018 Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), Ayre Productions deployed Pioneer Audio’s XY Series loudspeakers. The annual multi-stage event held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway is one of the world’s largest EDM festivals. The 2018 Las Vegas EDC, held May 18-20, racked up a total 411,400 “turnstile clicks” over three days.

In Memoriam: Mike Cooper, 70

AUSTIN, TX — Sound engineer and longtime Meyer Sound exec Mike Cooper passed away Aug. 15 after a brief battle with cancer. He was 70. Starting out as a bass and guitar player, Cooper performed at Austin’s Armadillo Club before mixing sound there early in his career. He then hit the road as a monitor engineer for Styx in 1983, and joined Meyer Sound in 1995. A memorial gathering is planned at Threadgills in Austin on Oct. 14.
