SIA Acoustics and Audio Analysts Partner with JBL for New Concert Venue

LAS VEGAS —The Pearl concert theater at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas recently opened with a performance by Gwen Stefani on April 21. SIA Acoustics designed the acoustics and sound system for the 2,500-seat arena; Audio Analysts installed the system, using the VerTec DP Series powered line arrays. Neumann KM Series Used in Avant-Garde Performance

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The Neumann KM 100 and KM 180 series of small diaphragm, condenser microphones were used in a recent concert of contemporary classical music performed by the avant-garde Italian pianist Marino Formenti to capacity audiences in the Koret Auditorium of the DeYoung Museum of San Francisco.

Danley Sound Labs Adds SH-DFA Down-Fill to SH Line

GAINESVILLE, GA — Danley Sound Labs has introduced a new down-fill loudspeaker to the SH Series. The SH-DFA is an asymmetrical full-range horn designed to integrate with the SH-50 loudspeaker series and fits the exact footprint of the SH-50.  It is nine inches high, with a coverage pattern of 50 x 100 x 50.

Jagermeister Mobile Stage Showcases Peavey Versarray Sound System At Ozzfest 2007

MERIDIAN, MS — Jägermeister has chosen a Peavey Versarray line array sound system and 207,000 watts of Crest Audio power for its mobile stage at Ozzfest 2007. Housed in a 44-foot trailer that opens into a fully self-contained stage measuring 34 feet wide, 16 feet deep and 20 feet high, the Jägermeister Mobile Stage is led by 24 flown Versarray 112 enclosures and 12 Versarray 218 subwoofers. It will be the official second stage at Ozzfest 2007, and will feature The Showdown, Ankla and Daath.

Daddy Cool Rocks Berlin at Start of European Tour

BERLIN, GERMANY — The musical Daddy Cool kicked off its European tour with a 10-week run in Berlin, which opened on April 26 in the show's 2000-seat big top tent in central Berlin. Richard Brooker designed the sound, supported by associate sound designer Tom Marshall, with the original system for the London production adapted to the requirements of the tour.

EV ZXA5 Powered Speaker

BURNSVILLE, MN — The Electro-Voice ZXA5 powered two-way loudspeaker includes a 500-watt DVX3150 15-inch transducer. Handling the HF is the ND2, a two-inch voice coil compression driver based on a neodymium motor structure. The ND2’s phasing plug and titanium diaphragm are meant to provide better HF performance, while the integral heatsink provides cooling for high power output.

L-ACOUSTICS dV-DOSC Rings at Conference Center

SALT LAKE CITY, UT — Salt Lake City’s LDS Conference Center has taken a recent installation of an L-ACOUSTICS dV-DOSC loudspeaker system. First opened in the spring of 2000, the 1.4 million-square-foot Conference Center is home to the semi-annual LDS General Conference, which packs in a full house and is broadcast worldwide out to 12 million people. Each Sunday the Center hosts a performance by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir — a weekly rite now in its 77th year.

HK Audio Hardrocks Lisbon

LISBON, PORTUGAL — The Hard Rock Café in Lisbon is located in the center of the city. The interior design is similar to that of others in the chain, with collector’s items of rock history hanging on the walls, such as autographed guitars, gold and platinum albums and stage clothing, but while most Hard Rock Cafés have their sound and lighting equipment installed by an American company, the Lisbon affiliate decided to have the Portuguese HK Audio distributor ALRICA Lda install its sound system.
