YouTube Stages First Live Event with e2k and Meyer Sound

SAN FRANCISCO — YouTube staged its first live event at San Francisco’s Fort Mason recently, using Meyer Sound systems supplied by Pro Media/UltraSound of Hercules, Calif. Part concert, part variety show, YouTube Live included the music of will.i.am, Joe Satriani and DJ Mike Relm, plus Mythbusters and Will It Blend host Tom Dickson.

Dirty Dancing Crew Using Meyer Sound M’elodie

CHICAGO — Bobby Aitken, sound designer for the current production of Dirty Dancing at the Cadillac Palace Theatre, is using a Meyer Sound M’elodie line array loudspeaker system operated by a crew including associate sound designer Garth Helm, UK associate sound designer and programmer Simon King, FOH engineer Bill Ruger and monitor engineer Allen Sanders.

D.A.S. Audio Used for Las Vegas Country Saloon

LAS VEGAS, NV — BK Audio, a design/build firm that also handles acoustical consulting as well as live sound reinforcement for the special events market, was contracted to handle the sound system installation for audio that could compete with the yips and hollers of the downtown Vegas crowd at The Las Vegas Country Saloon. According to Brian Klijanowicz, BK’s owner, pictured here, the room’s layout and physical construction made this project particularly challenging.

Electro-Voice Ropes Rodeo Finals with FIR

LAS VEGAS — For the fifth time in as many years, Texas-based LD Systems traveled to Las Vegas in December for the 49th annual Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (WNFR), a 10-day event some call the Super Bowl of rodeo. LD has partnered with the WNFR since 2004 as the event’s exclusive light and stage producer. 2007 marked the first year that LD also supplied sound reinforcement for the event.
