NEW YORK — A bilingual production of West Side Story recently opened at the Palace Theatre on Broadway with a Studer Vista 5 digital console mixing the show. The iconic production makes its return to Broadway after a 29-year absence, and sound designer Dan Moses Schreier and his associates selected the Vista 5 for its capabilities and audio quality.

MUMBAI, India — Sound.com Pvt. Ltd. deployed a JBL Vertec line array system for the 54th IDEA Filmfare Awards at the Yash Raj Studios. This marks the second year in which Sound.com has provided the audio services for the Filmfare Awards, informally known as the “Oscars of Bollywood.”

HOUSTON — Some 1.8 million people attend the three-week-long Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo every year, but for about 120 pro audio professionals arriving in Houston in mid-March, the main focus was on a different breed of long horn. They were there to attend the Electro-Voice PA Roundup, hosted by Bosch’s Communications Systems Division.

SOUTH BARRINGTON, IL — Willow Creek Community Church, which regularly draws over 22,000 attendees every weekend, relies on its sound system to ensure that those filling more than 7,200 seats can hear every word. Until recently, however, the sheer volume of the space thwarted attempts to deliver bass response that was commensurate with the rest of the system. To help address that problem, the church acquired six Danley TH-115 subwoofers.
