DALLAS – Crescent Sound and Light, a Louisiana-based production and systems integration company, recently upgraded the sound systems for several exhibits at the Dallas World Aquarium with Technomad Noho and Vienna advanced audio loudspeakers. The speakers are used to reproduce voice and full-range musical audio in the Giant River Otter and Crocodile displays in the Orinoco exhibition area, and also for the Temple of the Jaguar in the Mundo Maya exhibition area.

ATLANTA – Atlanta Sound & Lighting recently updated the AV system used at AmericasMart's 12,000 square-foot Ivystone and HomeStyle wholesale showroom with a new system incorporating a Symetrix Jupiter 8 processor with Symetrix ARC-WEB remote. The fully-programmable ARC-WEB provides secure network control of input source and zone volume from computers or smartphones anywhere in the facility or beyond.

BOSTON – Founded in 1963 and now led by artistic director Mikko Nissinen and executive director Barry Hughson, the Boston Ballet and the Boston Ballet School are internationally recognized. The Boston Ballet recently upgraded its audio system, including the installation of a Soundcraft Vi1 digital mixing console.

ORLANDO – When it was known as Tabu, The Beacham was Orlando's first South Beach-style VIP nightclub, setting the pace for the many that followed after it opened in 1999. But now The Beacham, a historic venue that has been part of Orlando's nightlife since the early 1920s, has been restored as a live performance venue and is using a KF740 P.A. system from EAW.

SAN MARCOS, CA – Meeting Services, Inc. deployed a Harman JBL VerTec line array system for the California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) campus for the school's spring commencement, class of 2011's celebration. More than 20,000 graduates, faculty, staff, family and friends attended the University's 20th commencement, which returned to campus after having been staged at local fairgrounds over the past decade.

Steven Vandervort, a Las Vegas-based sound engineer and AV consultant, died June 5 after a long illness. He was 51.
