FRISCO, TX — Gemini Light Sound & Video provided production gear for the annual EdgeFest one-day rock festival at 30,000-capacity FC Dallas Stadium here in late April, using Powersoft K2 and K3 amplifiers to power the main stage PA system. It was the sound and lighting company’s fifth year of supporting the event.

COLUMBIA, MD — At the Merriweather Post Pavilion within Symphony Woods here, Sweetgreen restaurant group hosted an all-day music festival featuring Avicii, Kid Cudi, The Shins, Explosions in the Sky, Fitz and the Tantrums, A$AP Rocky, Fun, Delta Spirit, Zola Jesus others. Called the Sweetlife Music and Food Festival, the event was supported by MHA Audio, which relied upon their Multi-cellular Loudspeaker Array (MLA) audio system for sound reinforcement.

Magnum Audio Installs Community Gear Within USF Sporting Venues

TAMPA, FL — Magnum Audio Group recently provided new sound systems for three sports venues at the University of South Florida (USF): a 4,500-seat baseball stadium, a 1,500-seat softball stadium and a 750-seat soccer stadium. Magnum’s Randi Crooks equipped the two larger venues with Community Pro’s WET W2-2W8, R1-66 and R.5-99 loudspeakers along with  R.5SUB subwoofers. For the smaller soccer stadium, just the R1-66 and R.5-99 loudspeakers did the trick.

FRISCO, TX — Gemini Lighting, Sound and Video deployed the new EAW KF740 Zero Degree Adapter to “flat-front” the top four modules of each main array for EdgeFest 22, which was staged at the FC Dallas Stadium here April 22, 2012. The festival featured performances by The Black Keys, Garbage, Cake, Cage the Elephant, Arctic Monkeys, Switchfoot, Evanescence, The Ting Tings and Dead Sara.

Albuquerque Church Solves Analog Wireless Issues with Line 6 Digital

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Faced with audio issues ranging from sound quality to interference, Central Seventh Day Adventist Church here decided to switch from conventional wireless microphones to Line 6 XD-V digital wireless. As Pastor Don Gibson recalls, “Our systems were pretty old, and we started having issues, especially after the FCC rules changed. Then the Line 6 systems solved all our problems.”

Coachella 2013 Advanced Tickets Sell Out

INDIO, CA — Goldenvoice, the AEG subsidiary that organizes the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, has not released a confirmed lineup of performers at next year’s festival, which will have the same double-weekend format as this year’s event, running from April 12-14 and April 19-21, 2013. But that didn’t stop buyers from snapping up all of the $349 general admission passes and $799 VIP passes within hours of when they became available on May 17.
