SEATTLE, WA — Our Lady of Fatima Parish was formed here in 1952 and moved into its current church location in 1968. Church leaders recently replaced its aging sound system. Morgan Sound opted for Tannoy QFlex 16 digitally steerable line arrays, crediting the gear for overall sound quality and spoken-word intelligibility.

HOUSTON, TX — The leadership at Grace Church here brought in Covenant Communications to take a look at the PA systems used at its church campuses in Houston’s Garden Oaks and Humble neighborhoods. Covenant determined that the speakers in both locations were underpowered and would benefit from system management. They installed 18 Powersoft Duecanali and M Series amplifiers outfitted with DSP and Ethernet-based network connectivity.

ATLANTA —Lorenzo Banda, monitor engineer for Foreigner, is using Digital Hybrid Wireless technology from Lectrosonics for the band’s current tour, which started in February and wraps up next month. He credited the gear for its sound quality, RF agility, range performance and reliability.

NASHVILLE — At a recent performance with Sarah McLachlan at Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center, drummer Curt Bisquera (Josh Groban, Mick Jagger, Seal, Elton John, The Beach Boys) used a variety of Audio-Technica mics, including the AE2500 Dual-element Cardioid Instrument Microphone on kick drum; AE3000 Cardioid Condenser Instrument Microphones on toms; ATM650 Hypercardioid Dynamic Instrument Microphones on top and bottom of snare; AT4050 Multi-pattern Condenser Microphone for overheads; and AE5100 Cardioid Condenser Instrument Microphone for ride cymbal and hi-hat.
