MINNEAPOLIS – Hennepin Theatre Trust and their managing partner the Historic Theatre Group operate three historic theaters in downtown Minneapolis’ cultural district. With the recent installation of Electro-Voice line-array loudspeaker systems in both the State and the Pantages theaters, the two have added a little modernization to these historic theatres.

MILWAUKEE, WI – Sven Pro Sound recently upgraded the sound system of the rapidly growing Transformation City Church. The newly installed Apogee sound system includes AE5 two-way speakers and a single APL-SB self-powered subwoofer.

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – The Choice of Tannoy’s VX Series Loudspeakers for Fuku Restaurant’s audio system was driven primarily by the requirements of the concept created by Groove Dining Group President, Paul Ardaji “It’s an upscale Pan-Asian restaurant based on a very serious, food-driven concept,” Ardaji explained. “We also wanted to be taken seriously as a music/entertainment destination where you can listen to world-class DJs spin. Music creates energy and we wanted to ensure we had an amazing sound system for dinner and late night, but often, those are different kinds of systems.”

LAS VEGAS — Along with 2013’s double-weekend sellouts for the Ultra Music Festival in Miami in March and Coachella in April, the Electric Daisy Carnival, set for June 21-23, is also due to set a new attendance record, with Insomniac Events reporting the sale of 345,000 tickets — 115,000 per night — up from total ticket sales of 320,000 last year.

NEW YORK—When Sound Designer Leon Rothenberg was tasked with reproducing the post-vaudeville burlesque scene of the 1930s for the new Broadway play, The Nance, he turned to Masque Sound. Rothenberg also worked with Danny Erdberg, Liz Coleman and Marc Salzberg on challenges that ranged from the need to accurately portray vaudeville – which was originally performed without sound reinforcement – and to give the audience the impression of being with the characters “backstage.”

RALEIGH, NC –– NC State’s new $115 million, 220,000-square-foot James B. Hunt Jr. Library, which opened at the college’s main campus here in January, features an AV system specified by Pittsburgh-based Sextant Group, with an assist from “Powered By” partner Sennheiser and Tampa, FL-based installers AVI-SPL. The project included a variety of Sennheiser and K-array components.

JEFFERSON CITY, MO – For 375-seat First United Methodist Church here, The Aries Company specified and installed an upgraded sound system that includes Harman’s dbx PMC¹⁶ Personal Monitor Controller. It is used as both a personal monitoring system and as a recording mixer.

BOSTON, MA – Eastern Acoustic Works (EAW) delivered a temporary sound system to the House of Blues in Boston for a one-night performance by alt-rock powerhouse Paramore, whose front-of-house engineer Eddie Mapp requested the opportunity to use the system.
