LAS VEGAS, NV — Audiotek’s Frank Murray specified Turbosound gear for Hakkasan, the new 10,000-square-foot, five-level nightclub at the MGM Grand on the Las Vegas Strip. The speaker setup starts with 24 TFA-600HW Flex Array modules and 12 TFA-600L cabinets, with a dance floor system that features six ground-stacked TFA-600B single 18” bass cabinets and three TFS-900Bi dual 18” subwoofers. Twenty-two TCX-8 and eight NuQ-6 loudspeakers supply under-balcony fill. Upstairs, an additional 21 TCX-8 are installed above the balcony..

LOS ANGELES, CA — Opened in 2012, Grand Park has been equipped with a fiber optic network and “media hydrants” throughout its 12 acres, allowing for a wider range of possible locations from where musicians can perform. WILLIAMSTOWN, MA — When the Williamstown Theatre Festival kicked off its 2013 summer season on June 26, Masque Sound marked its 10th season of providing audio equipment and services for the well-known event. Masque Sound is also once again providing audio equipment to Shakespeare in the Park at the Delacorte Theater in New York and The Muny in St. Louis.

LONDON – DPA Microphones played a significant role at the recent Big IF rally in London’s Hyde Park.  Sound, lighting and power provider Ethix Management used 12 DPA d:fine Headset Microphones to ensure that celebrities and VIPs, such as Microsoft CEO, billionaire Bill Gates and film director Danny Boyle, were clearly heard by the 45,000-strong crowd.

ATLANTA, GA — Atlanta History Center (AHC), founded in 1926, added its 400-seat Woodruff Auditorium in 1975. Cape Dixson Associates Inc. (CDAI) and Sound Design & Innovation (SDI) recently collaborated with AHC on an AV system upgrade that included Symetrix’ Radius 12×8 Dante network audio DSP.

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – Special Event Services (SES) deployed a large Outline GTO-based sound system for the 2013 Justin Moore Outlaws Like Me tour, taking advantage of Outline’s OpenArray 3D Simulation Software and integrated flying hardware system to optimize audience coverage and sound quality. The Outline components included GTO, GTO-DF, Butterfly, Mantas, LIPF and Lab 21 speakers.

TORONTO — Canadian jazz vibraphonist Peter Appleyard celebrated his 85th birthday with a performance at his vintage barn in Nassagaweya Township, Ontario, which dates from 1895. The event was captured for posterity using a mc²56 MKII mixing console from Lawo. The console was also used for the live mix, and to drive a single loudspeaker to provide the pianist and vocalist with a monitor mix of the wind, brass, and bass signals.
