BRONX, NY —  Professional Wireless Systems provided frequency coordination for Night of Hope at Yankee Stadium. PWS managed a total of 115 frequencies and faced two main challenges. Not only did PWS need to survey the area to track down interfering ENG crews that were not coordinating with the show’s wireless frequencies, but the company also had to be on standby for inclement weather during the outdoor event, as sudden storms open the potential for dropped signals and channel interference.

LAS VEGAS — Women in AV (WAVE) announced that Theresa Hahn, director of marketing & business development of Verrex, has been selected to receive WAVE’s 2014 Mentoring Award. The award was presented June 18 at the Hard Rock Hotel here during an event that coincided with InfoComm 2014. WAVE also honored Cory Schaeffer, Listen Co-Founder & Vice President of Business Development Worldwide, with a Women in AV Award.

MORRISON, CO — A police search following a parking lot shooting incident that injured three members of rapper Schoolboy Q’s entourage led to a lockdown of all roads leading to the Red Rocks Amphitheatre here late on June 19 while police tried to find the shooter. Although Schoolboy Q had been in the car at the time of the shooting, he was uninjured. The shooting occurred at about 10:30, as the concert featuring Nas and Lotus along with Schoolboy Q came to and end. The shooter remained at large despite a roadblock and car-by-car search of exiting concertgoers that continued until about 3 a.m.

LAS VEGAS – The OCA Alliance, a global consortium of companies developing the Open Control Architecture (OCA) as a media networking system, will demonstrate its standards-based open control of devices for the first time at this year’s InfoComm, set for June 18-20 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. In booth C11547, the Alliance will exhibit some of the first products implementing OCA from its member companies with technical experts on hand to explain and present the technology.
