3G Productions Deploys Martin Audio MLA At EDC Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – For this year’s Electric Daisy Carnival, held at Las Vegas Motor Speedway June 20-22, there were seven stages, carnival rides, art installations, fireworks displays and over 400,000 tickets sold. 3G Productions set up a fully-loaded Martin Audio MLA loudspeaker system on Stage Two consisting of 12 MLA Compact enclosures per side for sidefills and three MLA Compact units per side for front fills. 40 MLX subs were stacked along the front of the stage. The consoles used were Yamaha CL5 (FOH) and PM5D (monitors).

Kennedy Space Center Offers Visitors Shuttle Experience with TiMax SoundHub Spatialization

MERRITT ISLAND, FL – The Atlantis Shuttle Experience exhibit at the Kennedy Space Center here incorporates a pair of TiMax SoundHub audio showcontrol matrix systems to add immersive 3D spatialization to a multimedia history charting 33 missions of the Space Shuttle Atlantis. In the pre-show theatre, a 16-channel TiMax SoundHub applies delay-matrixed Image Definitions to the static 7.1 Pro Tools mix to create an immersive soundscape via 18 distributed speakers.

Kenny Kaiser, FOH Engineer for The Killers, Using SSL Live Console

MONTEREY, CA — Audio industry veteran Michael Reeves, 54, died from injuries sustained in an accident when an automobile collided with him while riding his road bike in Monterey, CA on June 21, 2014.  Michael’s wife Mary and daughter Katy were close by at home and many family and friends were able to assemble quickly to support and comfort them during the tragedy.

NEW YORK — For Holler If Ya Hear Me, billed as Broadway’s first hip-hop musical, the rhymes of Tupac Shakur are heard through an audio system supported with gear from Masque Sound. Sound designers David Patridge and John Shivers worked with a setup that included DiGiCo SD7T Live Digital Console, d&b audiotechnik V-Series line array system, d&b D80 amplifiers and a Yamaha PM5D-EX digital console. The performers were outfitted with Sennheiser SK5212-II radios and EM 3732-II receivers, as well as DPA d:fine microphone booms fitted with a 4066 element.

The tour, running Aug. 3-Oct. 10, also features Steve Winwood. It supports Hypnotic Eye, Petty’s 13th album, due out July 29.

Goldstein founded Maryland Sound International (MSI) in 1966, and throughout his career he’s been called on to take on the seemingly impossible.
