TORONTO — PA Plus provided live sound reinforcement for “Heaven’s Rehearsal,” a multi-denominational musical event that featured a house band, full orchestra and 500-member choir. The event took place at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada.  

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — Resorts International Casino Hotel is located at the northern end of the famed Boardwalk in Atlantic City, N.J., along with eight other of Atlantic City's 12 casinos. Recently, the property’s Superstar Theater upgraded its front-of-house position with a Yamaha PM1D digital audio console installed by ACIR Professional in Egg Harbor Township, N.J. The 1,350-seat, 17,500-square-foot entertainment venue features headliners like Jerry Seinfeld, Whoopi Goldberg, Tom Jones, Don Rickles, Snoop Dogg, Aaron Lewis and Chris Isaak, to name a few. 

NEW YORK — A vibrant sanctuary and worship center on New York's Lower East Side, the City Light Church urges its followers to "Rediscover Life" in a relaxed and casual, multicultural environment. Recently, the church set out to upgrade the audio system for their coffee shop/cabaret venue that holds a number of music and open-mic events as part of City Light's approach.

BERLIN — With the new O2 World Arena that opened recently in Berlin, Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) has set the template for a versatile, high-performing sports and entertainment facility. Harman audio technologies were integrated into the arena.

GREENVILLE, Texas —  MercyMe, the multiple Dove Award-winning, Grammy-nominated Christian rock band, are currently on tour in support of their latest album, teaming up with fellow guitarists Scheuchzer and Barry Graul onstage using Shure UHF-R wireless.

CARSON, Calif. — Peace Apostolic Church in Carson, Calif. has installed an Allen & Heath iLive-112 Digital Mixing System in the 900-seat main worship hall and a GL2800 in the adjacent 300-seat Fellowship hall. Handling multiple services each week in addition to rehearsals, bible studies and other events, the iLive system is configured with 40 inputs and 32 outputs in the Mix Rack with an additional eight inputs and outputs on the Control Surface.

CZECH REPUBLIC — Czech Republic-based sound company Polanski Sound used an Adamson system for the country’s second largest festival, Sázavafest. The fast-growing festival has gone from a one-day event, with a single stage and 1,800-person capacity to a four-day, multi-medium and multi-genre melting pot.

WASHINGTON — For a major corporate theater event hosted by PETCO, a specialty retailer of premium pet food, supplies and services with over 850 stores in 49 states and the District of Columbia, Poway, Calif.-based ShowTec deployed a TrueLIne line array system from WorxAudio Technologies.

SALT LAKE CITY — Performance Audio of Salt Lake City recently installed a new Electro-Voice XLC sound system at Energy Solutions Arena. The 20,500-seat arena is home to the NBA’s Utah Jazz, and is the region’s major concert venue — Reba McIntire and Kelly Clarkson were the first to perform alongside the new system.

ARLINGTON, Texas — With a 50-concert season, the Levitt Pavilion serves up an eclectic mix of high-quality entertainment productions, from dance to live music to performance art. With new productions for every show, the 2,000-capacity Levitt project demanded a sound system that could adapt quickly to an ever-changing schedule. Cornerstone Media president Kent Morris, a veteran audio contractor and installer, recognized the unique challenges of the project and specified the Peavey Versarray 212 line-array system as the main audio component. 

Crown Audio has debuted the newly extended XLS Series amplifiers that elevate the performance threshold of portable PA amplifiers, comprising the XLS 202, XLS 402, XLS 602, XLS 802 and the new XLS 5000. The XLS Series has now been extended with the addition of the new XLS 5000 ($1,399 U.S. street price), delivering 1,800 watts per channel in 4-ohm stereo mode and 5,000 watts in 4-ohm bridge-mono mode.

LAS VEGAS — The 2008 Parnelli Awards may have all been presented. The winners have flown home and they’re already working on gigs that may be considered for next year’s awards. The audio gear for the 2008 show has long been packed up and taken away. But the event lives on, available on FOH-TV (www.fohonline.com/tv), with highlights from the presentation of the Audio Innovator Award to Roy and Gene Clair, the Lifetime Achievement Award to Dennis Sheehan, and an honorary introduction to this year’s emcee, Alice Cooper.
