CARACAS, Venezuela – PROmontaje, based here, has taken delivery of a Meyer Sound LEO linear large-scale reinforcement system, the first to be available in Latin America. The new system was initially deployed at the Vive Movistar Festival in Caracas this summer.

CORNWALL, U.K. – The People’s String Foundation, a 12-member band that performed recently with an accompanying 10-piece orchestra at the Minack open-air theatre here, relied on Allen & Heath iLive digital mixing systems at FOH and monitors. FOH engineer Tommy Williams credited the iLive systems for their compact size, and also for the ability to use an iPad to mix much of the performance, which supported the group’s forthcoming album launch.

ANSAN, South Korea — Soundenergy’s Giwook Cha worked with Sunbeom Kim of Soundus, K-array’s Korean distributor, on an audio system upgrade for Do-ha Methodist church here that included a K-array BlueLine KB1 speaker system. Soundenergy also steered the Noryangin church in Bon-dong, South Korea toward K-array gear — in this case, K-array’s Kobra KK102 (pictured here). Both church systems were chosen for sound quality as well as their ability to blend in visually with each church’s interior design.

MUNICH, Germany – International reggae star Sean Paul recently completed a 10-show blitz through Germany with an Adamson Energia E15 line array system provided by Cobra sound light. The Hamburg, Germany-based sound company credited its recently-added Energia E15 PA system for its sound quality, scalability and ease of rigging.

LIVERPOOL, U.K. – Adlib supplied an L-Acoustics KIVA system for Newcastle, U.K.-based R&B Group. The gear package includes 18 L-Acoustics KIVA WST enclosures, six L-Acoustics 8XT speakers, four L-Acoustics SB15m subs, eight SB18 subs, flying frames and a stacking system, along with six L-Acoustics LA8 amplifiers and a Soundcraft Vi1 console for control.

HANOI, Vietnam – For Hanoi International Fellowship (HIF)’s 200-plus capacity sanctuary here, Singapore-based Soundsmith Solutions Pte. Ltd. designed a new system using Danley Sound Labs SM-80 and SH-micro loudspeakers and TH-mini subwoofers. The gear was chosen in part for its promise in meeting the facility’s challenging requirements for pattern control.

BANGOR, Australia — Ian “Woody” Woodhouse, a veteran of Australia’s pro audio industry who had spent the last seven years with Technical Audio Group (TAG), died July 12 after a long battle with cancer. CORNWALL, UK — Stu Fu, chief engineer for Matt “Starboy” Bowden, a New Zealand-based rock musician who puts on elaborately staged, theatrical performances, opted for an Allen & Heath compact GLD-80 digital mixer to support a series of shows in Eastern and Central Europe this summer. Fu lauded the digital desk’s ability to eliminate the need for a long roster of outboard gear.

HERNING, Denmark —Team Teatret, a theatre company, built a cube-like structure in the pavilion of the MCH Messecenter Herning exhibition center here for its one-man production, Dokumentaristen. Ingvar Cronhammar, the theatre company’s sound engineer, chose K-array gear for the unique performance space, including 12 KP52s, four KMT21s, two KMT18s and a KA10 amplifier.
