LONDON — RG Jones Sound Engineering relied upon Riedel Communications’ Artist and Acrobat intercom systems for the 2013 Wimbledon Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis Club. The system was used by Hawk-Eye operators, statistics collectors, scoreboard operators, and other staff, including the team supporting on-court presentations following the victory of the U.K.’s Andy Murray over world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in the men’s final.

VERONA, Italy – Measuring 140 by 110 meters (length by width), the Roman arena in Verona is known for its large-scale opera and theatre performances. Once capable of housing 20,000 patrons per performance, the arena is now limited to 15,000 because of safety reasons. But it still hosts more than a half-million audience members annually.  Musical Box Rent and K-array were involved in providing a modern sound system for the ancient venue.

LONDON, UK – Entec is supplying the current Skunk Anansie festival tour with a control and monitor system, working with the band’s long term engineers Paul Ramsay (FOH) and Simon Higgs (monitors).

CORNWALL, UK – An Allen & Heath iLive system with 18 ME-1 personal mixers were employed for a special 21st anniversary show of UK band, Tindersticks.  Part of a European summer tour, the band performed a special set at the Blue Balls Festival in Lucern, Switzerland, where a 17 piece string section played alongside the regular six piece band.

VIENNA, Austria – Joe Cocker’s recent European tour stretched from France and Germany to Croatia and Monaco. FOH engineer Bruce Jones needed to ensure fans’ favorite songs of the band were clearly audible for a variety of sold-out shows. A complete set of AKG microphones traveled with the band, and were quickly and reliably deployed every night.

ALLEROED, Denmark ― Rune Slot, live sound engineer for Danish rock band D-A-D, has turned to DPA Microphones to deliver the loud, punchy sound for which the band is famous. Slot has been on tour with D-A-D for most of this year, taking in countries such as China and the U.S. as well as Europe.

MELBOURNE, Australia — AV consultants Mozaix supplied CityLife Church’s Manningham campus with a Soundcraft Si Performer 3 mixing console. EINSIEDELN, Switzerland – Fohhn Audio’s new Focus Modular line array systems with beam steering are making their live debut at the large-scale, open-air theatre production of Das große Welttheater (The Great World Theatre) being staged at Einsiedeln Abbey here. The play, by Spanish writer Calderon de la Barca, has been performed on the abbey square of the Benedictine monastery at various intervals since 1924. In recent years it has been re-interpreted to relate to modern times.

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica — Local integrator Diseno Acustico (Acoustic Design) outfitted two new conference rooms within Park Inn Hotel here with CAD Wireless systems. The installation included CAD Audio WX100 UHF receivers, WX155 belt packs, WX160 goosenecks and WX150 handheld transmitters.

CHENGDU, China ― DPA Microphones played a key role at the 2013 Fortune Global Forum, held here in June. The event included a variety of presentations along with a gala dinner, with 30 traditional guzheng players, opera singers, choral and pop singers and a classical piano performance by Lang Lang. Fortune’s audio designer, Ron Lorman, worked with Ken Kimura at DPA’s office in Hong Kong to source several DPA d:facto Vocal Microphones, d:fine Headset Microphones and d:vote 4099 Instrument Microphones for the event.

LIVERPOOL, UK — Adlib’s sales and installation division, based here, has supplied rental company Stagetex, based in Merseyside, U.K., with an L-Acoustics ARCS wide / focus (WIFO) sound system.
