TAIPEI, Taiwan — An Allen & Heath GLD-80 digital mixer has been installed in the main auditorium of the National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU). The venue mainly functions as a performance site for NTNU’s department of music, and other speech or music performance courses. A GLD system is the main FOH mixing system, fitted with a Dante card for use with playback and recording software, and to provide multi-track live recording facilities if required.
SAO PAULO, Brazil — Gobos do Brasil designed an audio system for a new auditorium here, the Auditório da Basílica Nossa Senhora do Rosário, that includes K-array components, chosen for their compact size and clarity. The project was done on behalf of a religious organization known as Arautos do Evangelho, or “Heralds of the Gospel.”

BRUSSELS, Belgium –PRG’s EML division, based here, is expanding its inventory this year with 36 E15 line array enclosures and 24 E219 subwoofers. The E15 line arrays have already been deployed at Festivalpark in Werchter, Belgium. PRG EML provided the Energia system for the TW Classic, headlined by The Rolling Stones, and then for Rock Werchter, featuring Pearl Jam, Kings of Leon and Metallica. The E15 system is now currently out for a Spanish tour with Negramaro.

BARCELONA, Spain — For this year’s Primavera music festival in Spain, an event that draws huge crowds to the Parc del Fòrum public park grounds here, Twin Cam Audio specified L-Acoustics sound systems for five of the festival’s seven stages. Twin Cam’s technical director, Juan Cid, worked closely with L-Acoustics touring application engineer Frédéric Bailly to optimize the sound for the five stages. The Dark Sea, a new ride at Italian theme park Cinecittà World, is a roller coaster journey through Dante’s interpretation of hell which ends with a vertical free fall of 20 meters. The visual elements for this ride are stunning depicting visuals of hell; however, the sound was equally as important to create the fear factor and recreate the imagination of Dante’s inferno. 26 x KK52s and 12 x KMT12s are installed to substantially help the yield of the low frequencies and create a thundering boom for the fear factor.
