EventSound Adds Soundcraft Consoles to Inventory

SYDNEY – EventSound has added a Soundcraft Si Compact and a Si Performer 2 console to their inventory. “As an ardent Soundcraft fan, I was eagerly looking forward to the release of the Compact and Performer series of digital consoles,” said Managing Director Keith Clarkson. “These were the first digital consoles I knew how to operate without even turning them on, from just their layout. I like to think of them as the digital console for the analog guy.”

Anoushka Shankar FOHE Dennis Fernandez Using Waves Plugins with Yamaha CL5

LONDON — Dennis Fernandez, longtime FOH engineer for sitarist and world music artist Anoushka Shankar has, until recently, mixed most shows on an Avid VENUE console due to its ability to run Waves plugins. Recently, he has been using Waves plugins on other consoles too. For Shankar’s Traces of You tour, he has been using a Yamaha CL5 console, running his plugins with a Waves MultiRack SoundGrid system for Yamaha, make use of Y16 cards and Waves Impact Servers.

Monty Python Live (Mostly) Gets DiGiCo Support

LONDON — Forty-five years after they first hit TV screens, the five surviving members of Monty Python’s Flying Circus reunited for a series of live stage performances. Monty Python Live (Mostly) brought together five of the six original Pythons — John Cleese, Michael Palin, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones — along with video clips of Graham Chapman (1941-1989) for 10 shows at London’s O2 arena this summer. DiGiCo consoles were deployed at both FoH and monitor positions.
