Sennheiser Applauds FCC Report & Order on WMAS Approval

The Federal Communication Commission (FCC) approved a change in its regulation that now permits operation of Wireless Multichannel Audio Systems (WMAS) in the United States. WMAS is an advanced wireless microphone technology designed to meet the challenges of highly demanding live performance and studio applications. Compared to conventional wireless microphone systems, WMAS offers higher spectral efficiency – the ability to transmit more audio channels within a limited block of radio frequency (RF) spectrum – as well as greater interference protection to other wireless services that share the same spectrum.

CMA Touring Awards Ceremony Held on Feb. 12 in Nashville

NASHVILLE – More than 20 categories of 2023 CMA Touring Awards winners were lauded Feb. 12, 2024 at Marathon Music Works in Nashville. Hosted by Keith Urban, the event’s 900 attendees included top country artists. Arpad Sayko was named FOH Engineer of the Year for his work with Chris Stapleton and Bryan “Opie” Baxley was named Monitor Engineer of the Year for his work with Kenny Chesney.

Perelman Performing Arts Center Opens at World Trade Center Site with d&b Soundscape Systems

NEW YORK – The new Perelman Performing Arts Center on New York’s World Trade Center site opened last fall with three flexible performance venues that can morph into 60 stage-audience arrangements with capacities ranging from 90 to 950 seats. The venue teamed up with Charcoalblue, Sound Associates and Masque Sound on the project, which leverages d&b Soundscape to provide sound reinforcement solutions that are as flexible as the space.
