DiGiCo Acquires KLANG:technologies

CHESSINGTON, U.K. – DiGiCo, part of the Audiotonix family that already includes leading audio brands Allen & Heath, Calrec, DiGiGrid and Solid State Logic, announced Dec. 17 that it had recently acquired KLANG:technologies. “Combining the control of the KLANG system into the DiGiCo worksurface will allow I-IEM and 3D personal monitoring to be a part of an engineer’s natural work flow,” noted Austin Freshwater, GM of DiGiCo. James Gordon, CEO of Audiotonix, and Roman Scharrer, CEO of KLANG, also welcomed the move.

K-array Launches K-array USA

BOSTON – K-array announced the launch of K-array USA, a subsidiary operating in the Boston area since Dec. 1, 2018, led by K-array global business development director, Rusty Waite. The Italian manufacturer will oversee sales, marketing and service of K-array’s audio solutions in the U.S., with an assist from manufacturer reps SG Western (California, Nevada, Arizona), Marketing Concepts (Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi) and On The Road Marketing (New York City, New Jersey).

RCF Group To Acquire DPA Microphones

REGGIO EMILIA, Italy — RCF Group announced its acquisition of Allerod, Denmark-based DPA Microphones A/S from The Riverside Company Dec. 11. As with EAW, which RCF acquired from Loud Audio in September, the acquisition is being welcomed by top management of the company being acquired. Kalle Hvidt Nielsen, CEO of DPA, spoke of a “bright future” for the DPA brand, and Arturo Vicari, CEO of RCF Group, also lauded the new milestone. “We can now offer the complete audio chain, from microphones to speakers for the satisfaction of professionals around the world.”

Solotech Acquires U.K.-Based SSE Audio Group

MONTREAL – Solotech, an increasingly international company with operations in Canada, the U.S. and Europe, announced that it has acquired SSE Audio Group, the largest supplier of professional audio services in the U.K. Solotech called the acquisition “the most important transaction in Solotech’s history.”

DiGiCo Consoles Keep The Country Music Association Awards Covered

NASHVILLE – For the 52nd annual CMA Awards, held Nov. 14 at Bridgestone Arena, a pair of DiGiCo SD-Range consoles played a big role. Blackhawk Audio president Rick Shimer used an SD7 at FOH for the music performances, and ATK Audiotek principal Pat Baltzell used an SD5 to mix the evening’s production audio. Eight Inductees to the NAMM TECnology Hall of Fame Announced

ANAHEIM, CA – Eight major audio inventions, including Leo Beranek’s 1943 anechoic audio test chamber (pictured here) will be inducted to the TECnology Hall of Fame (THOF). The inventions span the 1940s through today and will be honored Jan. 26 during a ceremony at the 2019 NAMM Show. The event, presented by the NAMM Museum of Making Music, will be hosted by George Petersen, THOF founder and director and editor of FOH magazine.

RCF Rocks Record Setting Eastern States “Big E” Exposition

WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA – The Eastern States Exposition, known as “The Big E,” drew record attendance with more than 1.5 million visitors over a 17-day span in late September. SCL Sound Systems provided RCF powered speaker systems across all of the fair’s major stages, which featured performances from the Beach Boys, Old Dominion and Ice-T, among others.
