Over the past couple years, there has been an explosion of tablet / smartphone-based systems where musicians can control their own monitor mixes via Wi-Fi. But dedicated personal mix hardware systems are a better choice in many instances, especially in cases such as multi-act shows, festivals, houses of worship and other events where you don’t want to rely on every performer remembering to bring a compatible device that’s fully charged and with the correct app installed.
