Metallica Tours with Sennheiser 2000 Series PMs

TORONTO — Metallica, currently touring in support of their Death Magnetic album, has integrated Sennheiser’s new 2000 Series personal monitoring system into its touring rig. According to the band’s monitor engineer, Bob Cowan, the system provides him with networking and software capabilities that allow for more than enough usable frequencies at any venue, reliable wireless performance and a sonic quality that has drawn praise from band members.

LA GRANGE, GA — In the five years since Troup County Comprehensive High School added a 900-seat fine arts auditorium to their campus, the school has gotten high marks for site lines, acoustics, and amenities, but less-than-stellar grades for a sound system that lacked intelligibility and punch.

NEW BRITAIN, CT — For the production of Chicago, staged earlier this year at Central Connecticut State University, DNR Productions owner Don Gamsjager chose Micro Microphones from Da-Cappo, distributed by Hosa Technology.

GREEN BAY, WI — Arrow Audio, the contractor hired to update the wireless system at Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers, needed to make sure there would be nothing cheesy about its ability to keep the lines of communication open. AUSTIN, TX — The 750-seat Austin Ridge Bible Church hired Ford Audio-Video Systems, Inc. to replace its existing speaker system with a NEXO GEO S 12 Series line array. Six NEXO GEO S1210s and two GEO S1230s were chosen along with two NXAMP 4×4 amps and two ALS2-PF subwoofers.

The system also features EV’s latest XCS312 cardioid pattern subwoofers.
