Full Sail University Donates Flashlights for Haiti Earthquake Relief

WINTER PARK, FL – In an effort to aid the victims of the Haiti earthquake, Full Sail University donated more than 500 new flashlights and batteries to Harvest Time International. The flashlights were used in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for "World's Largest Torchlit (Flashlight) Logo/Image Formed by People" and were a needed item on the Haiti relief donation list.

FCC Adopts Order To Clear The 700 Mhz Frequency

WASHINGTON, D.C.-On Jan. 15, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) adopted an Order and Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking prohibiting the further operation, distribution and sale of devices that operate in the 700 MHz frequency band. This area of frequencies, previously used by television channels in the "UHF" band of transmission, had been in ad hoc use by wireless microphones and other wireless data transmission devices (DMX, et al).

Shure Extends 700 MHz Rebate Past New FCC Deadline

NILES, IL – In response to the FCC's prohibition of the use of wireless microphones, personal monitors and related equipment in the 700 MHz band after June 12, 2010, Shure Inc. pledged to extend its rebate program to June 30, 2010. To help wireless system users comply with the transition, Shure has been granting rebates of up to $1,000 to customers who purchase a new Shure wireless system and who also send in their old 700 MHz system, regardless of who manufactured it.
