Poland’s Spodek Arena Equipped with Danley Gear

KATOWICE, Poland – Natural Sound Service and Danley Sound Mission Europe followed up on their collaboration on a temporary system for the Spodek Arena for the 2009 EuroBasket basketball championships with an upgrade to the 40-year-old saucer-shaped venue's permanent audio system. The new system includes 12 Danley Jericho Horns (JH-90), two Danley Genesis Horns (GH-60) and several dozen Danley subwoofers and full-range cabinets.

ARC, Sound Moves Return to Glyndebourne with DiGiCo SD10B

LEWES, U.K. – In 1998, audio production companies Andy Rose Consultants (ARC) and Sound Moves used a Soundtracs DPC-II digital console to broadcast two live operas from the historic Glyndebourne venue in Sussex. Thirteen years later, the same two companies have facilitated another live broadcast for the same place, this time using the DPC-II's latest successor, the DiGiCo SD10B.

AES Executive Director Roger Furness To Step Down

NEW YORK – Jim Kaiser, president of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) has announced that Roger Furness, AES executive director since 1994, will step down from his position at the end of 2011. An AES member since 1975, Furness has served as Section Chair, Vice President AES Europe and as AES President. To ensure continuity in all aspects of the AES organization, the Executive Committee has asked him to remain as Executive Director Emeritus throughout 2012.
