Campbellsville Baptist Church Upgrades with Adamson Metrix System

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY — Ryan Jackson of JCA Media LLC, who designed and installed the replacement sound system for Campbellsville Baptist Church, brought in a Metrix system from Adamson Systems Engineering. The two-array setup could be fine-tuned to cover both the 900-capacity church’s main sanctuary seating and balcony areas. The speakers are powered by Lab.gruppen PLM10000Q amplifiers, and an Allen & Heath iLive digital system, Audio Technica 5000 Series wireless receiver and DPA instrument mics round out the audio upgrade.

Staging Failures May Prompt Non-Specialized Insurers to Leave Event Industry

SANTA ANA, CA — Recent staging failures, such as  this year’s Radiohead stage collapse in Toronto that left one dead and three injured could have serious ramifications for the live event industry, according to Scott Carroll, executive vice president and program director of Take1 Insurance, part of the U.S. Risk Insurance Group, and a specialist insurance provider for the entertainment industry. The Toronto event could renew calls for stricter regulations for stage construction and engineering, potentially convincing less experienced insurance providers to abandon the industry.

And with fewer providers, there is less competition, which could lead to higher premiums.

Anschutz Company Puts AEG Up for Sale

LOS ANGELES — The Anschutz Company announced that Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) is for sale. AEG owns more than 100 venues, including Staples Center and London’s O2 arena. Its subsidiary, AEG Live, is the second-largest concert promoter, behind Live Nation. AEG also produces music festivals including Coachella, and its sports franchises include the Los Angeles Kings.
