LONDON — Capital Sound provided audio gear for the Universal Music BRIT Awards Party hosted by Bacardi and Soho House at the Old Midland Bank here. The crew opted for an ‘in the round’ system for two DJ rigs comprised of 28 Meyer Sound Mina cabinets and eight 600-HP subs. The setup also included a DiGiCo SD11 console, a pair of Meyer Sound Galileos and Martin Audio W2s along with WS218X subs.

Hamburg’s Ohnsorg Theater Installs Alcons Gear

HAMBURG, Germany — In July 2011, the Ohnsorg Theater, which performs using the traditional Platt language spoken in parts of western Germany, relocated from their former space, Grossen Bleichen, to the Heidi-Kabel-Platz theater within Hamburg’s historic Bieberhaus. Protones Audiotechnik recently provided Alcons gear to optimize the sound within the 414-seat space.

After Leadership Change, Avid Delays Q4 2012 Earnings Report

BURLINGTON, MA — Avid Technology Inc., based here, announced on Feb. 25 that its Q4 2012 earnings report, originally due to be released on Feb. 26, would be delayed. The company, which made a costly foray into audio and video editing products for consumers before selling those businesses last year, has been reportedly struggling for profitability since 2005. Avid had previously announced on Feb. 11 that its president and CEO, Gary Greenfield, had voluntarily resigned his post and would be replaced by one of the company’s directors, Louis Hernandez, Jr.
