RIO DE JANEIRO – An Allen & Heath GLD mixer has been installed in Rio de Janeiro’s Maracana stadium in Brazil. The venue, which had been closed for a three-year renovation prior to this year’s reopening in preparation for the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup soccer competition, now features a GLD-80 mixer at the heart of its new audio system. The system includes Electro-Voice gear distributed via a Dante network. COLLEGE STATION, TX – For Breakaway Ministries, which sponsors weekly Bible study events on the campus of Texas A&M University here, Houston-based Puresound has been providing audio support. The gatherings, staged in either the Reed basketball arena or the Kyle Field football stadium, are heard via JBL VerTec speakers. Along with sound quality, Puresound needed a system that could be setup and taken down quickly. Each venue only allots an hour for setup and an hour for tear-down.
