University of MN Golden Gophers Enjoy New Locker Room Sound System

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – The University of Minnesota’s Golden Gophers football team requested improvements to the audio playback system in their locker room. Alpha Video & Audio was contracted to design and install a cost effective, new system centered on the powerful, but easy to use, Symetrix Jupiter 4 app based turn-key DSP. The new Symetrix Jupiter 4 app audio system allows for two iPod docks, a DirectTV input, and a cable input to satisfy the needs of the players, coaches, and support staff.

NILES, IL — The 2013 Tony Awards broadcast was a critical and ratings success, posting a 20 percent increase in viewership. With the show’s move from the Beacon Theater back to Radio City Music Hall, the theme for the night, as stated by host Neil Patrick Harris in the epic opening number, was to “make it bigger.” To cope with the show’s expansive production requirements, RF systems provider Firehouse Productions went with an all-Shure approach to wireless microphone systems and in-ear monitoring systems. Firehouse Productions supplied 48 channels of Shure UHF-R wireless and 8 channels of Shure PSM 1000 personal monitor systems.

SAN ANTONIO, TX – St. Phillips college contracted San Antonio Sound & Light to upgrade their sound reinforcement system. The sound reinforcement system that San Antonio Sound & Light installed was a LCR system consisting of Tonnoy’s VQNET 60 full range, self-powered, three-way loudspeakers, VQNET MB double 18-inch subwoofer, and a VQNET 85 dedicated two way down-firing Mid/High loudspeaker.

MANHATTAN, KS – Cytek Media Systems worked with Kansas State University to update the University’s Nichols Hall’s sound system. Cytek Media Systems pulled out the studio’s tired old sound playback systems and replaced them with new, reliable ones centered on the flexible Ashly NE800.70PE two-channel amplifier with optional on-board Protea digital signal processing. One of the amplifier outputs feeds the new full-range SoundTube CM82-EZ loudspeakers, while the other powers the new SoundTube CM1001d-T subwoofers.

SAN ANTONIO, TX – San Antonio’s Freeman Coliseum has been going through a multi-year initiative to update the entire venue. Bexar County and the facility’s management, teamed up with LD systems to install 40 ARCS Focus and 16 SB 18i subs into the venue to improve the sound quality in the coliseum. The new system is powered and processed by a combined total of 8 amplified controllers, two LA4 drive the bottom ARCS Focus while six LA8 power both the subs and upper four ARCS Focus cabinets.

ST. CHARLES, MO – Chip Self, president of Logic Systems Sound and Lighting, Inc, contacted Danley Sound Labs and is now responsible for the installation of one of the first Danley BC412 installations in the world. Danley Sounds Labs and Chip Self had this new Danley BC412 installed in the Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri. The BC412’s outrageous output for its size puts this subwoofer in a class all its own.

VANCOUVER, BC – Zach Rudulph, musical director and bass player for Andy Grammer, got scooped up with drummer Mike Baker to support Aussie pop artist Cody Simpson, who is touring the U.S. and Canada. He’s bringing along a couple key pieces of Radial gear for the shows, including Radial’s Tonebone (Bassbone).
