Old Dominion University Arena Upgrades with QSC Gear

NORFOLK, VA — The multi-purpose Ted Constant Convocation Center at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA, colloquially known as “The Ted,” has undergone  a comprehensive upgrade with an end-to-end installed sound system from QSC for its tenth anniversary. The audio system overhaul at the arena, which seats 8,639 for basketball games, comprised of two separate QSC WideLine-8 line array systems as well as AcousticDesign Surface Mount and Ceiling Mount loudspeakers powered by PowerLight 3 and CX Series amplifiers, with a Q-Sys Core 500i  handling all signal distribution and system processing.

Fohhn Focus Arrays Used for Open-Air Production at Einsiedeln Abbey

EINSIEDELN, Switzerland – Fohhn Audio’s new Focus Modular line array systems with beam steering are making their live debut at the large-scale, open-air theatre production of Das große Welttheater (The Great World Theatre) being staged at Einsiedeln Abbey here. The play, by Spanish writer Calderon de la Barca, has been performed on the abbey square of the Benedictine monastery at various intervals since 1924. In recent years it has been re-interpreted to relate to modern times.

GREENSBORO, NC — WorxAudio Technologies signed an agreement with AFMG to use their new FIRmaker software as an enhancement to WorxAudio’s TrueAim system optimization software. WorxAudio had already adopted AFMG’s EASE Focus 1 and EASE Focus 2 3D acoustic modeling software. With FIRmaker, WorxAudio customers will be able to model a room and export FIR filter parameters to DSP controlled amplifiers.
