Fall Tours for Jonas Brothers, Pitbull/Ke$ha Canceled

NEW YORK — Days before their 19-date October/November tour was set to kick off in Upper Darby, PA on Oct. 11, the Jonas Brothers canceled the shows, with reports citing a “deep rift” and artistic differences. Separately, a five-show Australian tour leg featuring Pitbull and Ke$ha, due to begin Oct. 30 in Brisbane, was also canceled, with reports citing soft ticket sales as the likely reason.

In Memoriam: Marshall Holmes, 55

LOS ANGELES — Marshall Holmes died of a heart attack Sept. 25, 2013 while traveling with others to Los Angeles after the load-out of a Luis Miguel show in Bakersfield, CA.  Sept. 25 was Holmes’ birthday; he had just turned 55. The veteran touring crew member had a long career supporting various touring productions for artists ranging from Miguel to Midnight Oil and The Tubes, among others. A memorial service is being arranged by Holmes’ longtime friends, Steve Macfadyen and Steve “Chopper” Borges. It is set to take place Oct. 23 at the Fillmore in San Francisco, CA from 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

LAS VEGAS — The Parnelli Board of Advisors has announced the creation of a Parnelli Hall of Fame, and has chosen veteran concert touring professional Mo Morrison as its first inductee. “We felt we as an industry deserve our own Hall of Fame, and Mo is an obvious first choice,” says Terry Lowe, executive producer of the Parnellis and publisher of PLSN/FOH magazines. “From his early days as a stagehand through his current gargantuan task of being tour director of Lady Gaga’s amazing show, he’s been part of some of touring history’s biggest moments.”
