AUSTIN, TX — For the Unity Church of The Hills in Austin, Texas, a new sound system was way overdue. The church congregation has grown over the years to now require three services on Sunday with different musical styles and audio mixes required in each. For the main sanctuary, the Allen & Heath iLive-T112 Surface with an IDR-64 MixRack commands the FOH position where it orchestrates a new Turbo Sound TCS 1061 line array powered by Ashley NE 2400 amplifiers and a series of Shure ULX-D wireless microphones.

CORONA, CA – Crossroads Church, a 121-year old congregation located in Corona, CA, recently upgraded its sound reinforcement system with the addition of 24 PowerLight 3 Series PL380 amplifiers and two Q-Sys I/O Frames – all controlled by a Q-Sys Core 500i Integrated Core. The upgrade was designed to support the congregations’ highly energized and impassioned contemporary services that can boast weekend attendances of nearly 8,000 worshipers.

STONE MOUNTAIN, GA – The owners of Stone Mountain Park hired Atlanta-based Full Spectrum to deploy Symetrix SymNet Edge Dante networked audio DSP system. Plans call for the system to grow and eventually expand to cover all of the park’s attractions via an inexpensive Cat5 network.

MINNEAPOLIS – This season the Donny and Marie Christmas tour brought the Osmonds’ family-friendly blend of music, dancing, comedy and entertainment to audiences across the US. The 15-city arena tour featured the Osmonds performing holiday music, hit songs and more—even mixing in classic clips from 1970s holiday TV broadcasts that hadn’t been seen in decades. The all-out entertainment extravaganza delivered with the help of a HARMAN JBL VTX Series line array audio system provided by Livonia, Michigan-based Thunder Audio.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — The Arsenio Hall Show premiered in September 2013 and features a mix of comedy, music and celebrity guests, adding a new perspective to the late-night scene. Peter Baird is the sound system designer as well as the music mixer for the show. Collaborating with the production mixer, house and monitor engineers, he chose five Yamaha CL Digital Audio Consoles and six Rio3224-D input/output boxes to kick off the season. Two CL5s and one CL3 are used at front of house with two CL5s at the monitor mix position.

ROCHESTER, NY – The “new” Sibley Building in downtown Rochester, New York rose out of the ashes of the original Sibley Building, which served as the city’s first department store and burned down in 1906. It has remained an architectural fixture ever since and was admitted to National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The lower levels serve as retail space and help to anchor Rochester’s current downtown revitalization. Its public areas recently benefited from a sound system overhaul that centered on processing, amplification, and control provided by commercial audio manufacturer Ashly Audio of nearby Webster, New York.
