Heartbeat of Home Dance Tour Relies on Shure Wireless Mics, PMs

BOSTON — Created by a production team led by producer Moya Doherty and director John McColgan of Riverdance, Heartbeat of Home fuses Irish, Latin and Afro-Cuban dance styles of dancing. Production RF Engineer Amir Carmel, who manages the production’s wireless needs, has been relying upon Shure wireless mics and in-ear monitors. The touring production has been using 49 channels of UHF-R bodypacks and 16 channels of PSM1000 in-ears.

Sarasota’s Church of Hope Installs VUE al-4 Line Arrays

SARASOTA, FL — To improve upon the audio system that had been used since their 250,000-square-foot facility opened here in 2007, Church of Hope turned to Fort Myers-based Tech-Tronics, which replaced the existing LCR and delay clusters with simple left and right hangs of eight VUE Audiotechnik al-4 elements per side. Two VUE V4 Systems Engines provides power and processing for the line arrays. The church’s existing subs were retained for low frequency support.

LAS VEGAS — MGM Resorts International added an L-Acoustics’ KARA system to its arsenal of audio gear that gets put to use for a wide variety of events staged at more than a dozen resort properties along the Las Vegas Strip. MGM Resorts production supervisor Shad Groverland says the purchase is part of the company’s strategy to make use of more of the gear it already owns between its properties rather than rent gear from an outside vendor.

Deltona High School Updates Theater with Allen & Heath GLD Mixer

DELTONA, FL — For Deltona High School’s 975-seat theater here, Dan Lee of Signature Systems Florida recommended a new loudspeaker system and a modern DSP to replace the theater’s analog signal processing equipment. Lee also suggested that the school replace their aging analog mixer with a new Allen & Heath GLD digital mixer. The school is now using a GLD-80 Mixer and AR2412 Mixrack combination.
