LOS ANGELES — For EightyTwo, a new 4,000-square-foot classic video arcade and pinball bar that recently opened in L.A.’s Downtown Arts District, co-owners Scott Davids and Noah Sutcliffe turned to Gridworks for an audio system that includes QSC K Series and AcousticDesign Series loudspeakers. The idea is to bring patrons back to 1982, hence the name.

ATLANTA — CTS Audio installed a Bose RoomMatch system to meet the needs of Church of the Apostles, a mega-church in Atlanta’s Buckhead district. CTS director of AVL integration, Neal Watson, worked with the church’s media and communications director, Kevin Knox, who admitted being reluctant at first to take the RoomMatch route. The installation included a rush order for the first six RMS218 units off the Bose production line.

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil — The stadium hosting the FIFA World Cup 2014 finals competition features an Electro-Voice sound system and a Dante network card-enhanced Allen & Heath GLD-80 mixer. The mixer controls audio distribution around the entire stadium through fiber optic cables. Precise Corporate Staging Honored with U.S. Chamber Blue Ribbon Small Business Award

WASHINGTON, DC – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce honored Tempe, AZ-based Precise Corporate Staging (PCS) with the Blue Ribbon Small Business Award for a second consecutive year. The award was presented at the 10th annual America’s Small Business Summit, held here June 11-13. It was the second consecutive year for PCS to be recognized with the honor, which recognized PCS’ charitable efforts. The company has donated $2.5 million in time, equipment and money since its inception in 2000.

USITT is accepting nominations for their Distinguished Achievement Awards and Special Achievement Awards from June 1-July 1. The Distinguished Achievement Awards honor “people whose careers have greatly contributed to a specific field of entertainment design or technology.” Details on the five Special Achievement Awards, which are not necessarily awarded annually, are below.
