Established in 1939, the organizers marked the event’s 75th anniversary this year. Held at the cavernous Las Vegas Convention Center from June 14-20, this year’s event represented a 5.5 percent increase in attendance over InfoComm 2013.

Telemundo’s Singing Contest for Kids Relies on PWS Systems for Frequency Coordination

ORLANDO, FL — Professional Wireless Systems (PWS) provided all wireless equipment and frequency coordination for Telemundo’s singing competition, La Voz Kids. The show, which features approximately 140 young vocalists between ages 7 and 15 who compete for a recording contract and a cash prize to support their education, recently kicked off its second season at Universal Studios Orlando here. LONDON – Adlib supplied an L-Acoustics K1 sound system and Systems Engineer Tony Szabo for the recent U.K. and European legs of Nine Inch Nails’ 2014 European tour. The sound system included a front hang of 14 K1 speakers with four KARA downs and an array of eight K1 SB subs flown L-R near the main hang, plus side hangs of 10 K1 and four KARA downs. On the floor were 18 SB28 subs with KARA fills on top. All speakers were driven by L-Acoustics LA8 amps and controlled using LA Network Manager.

Riedel Provides Communications Solutions for Red Bull Air Race

WUPPERTAL, Germany – For the Red Bull Air Race World Championship, which ran annually from 2003 to 2010 before returning in 2014 with races held in Abu Dhabi (Feb. 28), Rovinj, Croatia (April 12) and Putrajaya, Malaysia (May 18), relied upon a signal distribution system built by Riedel engineers for video, audio, communications, and data. The MediorNet real-time media network includes seven MediorNet Compact frames and three MediorNet Modular frames. Technicians interface audio signals via MADI and Riedel’s RockNet digital audio network solution in combination with MediorNet to integrate the event’s main mixing console, located in the OB van that provided the big-screen mix for the live audience. Riedel also supplied the wireless video links and HD cameras for the racing planes’ onboard cameras, thus enabling pictures to be delivered from the pilots’ perspectives.
