Saelig has introduced two new RF analyzers, the PSA3605 and PSA6005. Both models incorporate a large high resolution color TFT display with touch screen control and use advanced digital techniques to provide both higher frequency range and wider functionality. The Displayed Average Noise Level (DANL) noise figure is better than -160dBm/Hz and a minimum full scale reference level of -40dBm allows signals down to -120dBm to be seen. RBW and VBW are adjustable from 300Hz to 10MHz in 1:3:10 sequence.

Masque Sound Powers New Musical Atomic

NEW YORK — Masque Sound provided a custom audio equipment package for the new rock musical, Atomic. The package included an Avid VENUE Profile Console, a pair of d&b audiotechnik C7-TOP 15-inch two-way speakers, EAW JF200s and Meyer Sound UPA-1Ps. Masque Sound also supplied a microphone package featuring Sennheiser MKE-2s for the cast, as well as a wireless package featuring Sennheiser 5212 and 3532s.

Journey and Steve Miller Band Tour With Meyer Sound LYON Loudspeakers

Rock legends Journey and the Steve Miller Band are touring with Meyer Sound LYON linear line array loudspeakers.  The system is based around dual main hangs of 12-each LEO-M line array loudspeakers with four LYON loudspeakers under each hang for down fill. Outfill hangs are 10 LYON loudspeakers each, while four MINA line array loudspeakers and four JM-1P arrayable loudspeakers are used for front fill.

Symetrix Jupiter 8 Used at Manhattan’s Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum

NEW YORK – After Hurricane Sandy badly damaged the Space Shuttle pavilion, the Intrepid Museum rebuilt the exhibit with several improvements, including a second Symetrix Jupiter 8 DSP for expanded functionality. Together, the two units possess sixteen outputs, with roughly half feeding audio induction loops for assisting the hearing impaired. For day-to-day use, different zones loop zone-specific audio, such as recordings of radio transmissions between NASA ground control and Enterprise during test flights or educational movie content.

Cadac Provides Sound for Hot Dog Eating Contest

BROOKLYN, New York City – A mid-show downpour combined with seasonal steamy humidity made a humble hot dog eating contest into a challenging sound production gig. FOH engineer Mark Fiore of Audio Production Services tried out the CADAC CDC eight-32 digital production console for the first time at the Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest, and was impressed. “I found the user interface to be very intuitive and easy to work with. I like the way you can scroll left and right through the layers. It also has a very rich sound – very much like the classic J-Type – and there was a noticeable difference between this year’s sound quality and years past,” he said.
