The System 6000 Integrator plug-in lets users save and reload the complete settings of their System 6000 as part of virtually any DAW project (for track playback or capturing audio during a performance), by using an existing Ethernet connection. Via standard automation, users can automate preset changes during playback, so users can get more out of the System 6000’s four processing engines. European Athletics Championship in Switzerland Relies on Stagetec Nexus Network

ZURICH, Switzerland – A Stagetec Nexus network consisting of a Nexus Star and five Nexus Base Devices provided signal distribution at the European Athletics Championship held Aug. 12-17 at the Lezigrund Stadium here. Seven OB trucks were connected to the Nexus network, which consisted of 16 base stations. Along with 150,000 visitors over the six days, the event was expected to draw some 370 million viewers.

CHICAGO – The ‘David Bowie Is’ exhibition uses Sennheiser’s guidePORT technology to broadcast 25 live audio streams through transmitters that are perfectly mapped to the floor plan of the exhibit. A special 3D upmix algorithm created by Gregor Zielinsky, Sennheiser’s International Recording Applications Manager, is also used to create a 3D audio spectacle, consisting of Bowie concerts from over the years and an exclusive ‘mash up’ of his songs.

Chelsea Grin Using Sennheiser Mics and Wireless for U.S. Shows

SALT LAKE CITY – Chelsea Grin, a “deathcore metal” band featured on Warped 2014, will be embarking on a 24-date U.S tour this October in support of their third studio LP, Ashes to Ashes, released earlier this year. On the recommendation of Chelsea Grin tour manager/FOH engineer Gino Scarim and Sennheiser artist relations manager Tim Moore, the band upgraded its wireless infrastructure to Sennheiser’s G3 series along with a variety of Sennheiser microphones.

NYC Sports Bar Recreates Stadium Sound with QSC System

NEW YORK CITY – Nevada Smith’s, a Manhattan mecca for fans of European soccer, relocated recently. For the sports bar’s new location, AV/NY owner and sound engineer Daryl Kral provided an audio system that centers on QSC K Series active loudspeakers and AcousticDesign in-ceiling loudspeakers driven by RMXa Series amplifiers. The goal was to create a realistic stadium sound to match the two massive projection screens and numerous flat-screen HD displays installed throughout the venue.

NEW YORK – The musical comedy Hedwig and the Angry Inch uses a Meyer Sound system built around M’elodie line array loudspeakers. The main system is anchored by dual front hangs of eight-each M2D line array loudspeakers flanking a center hang of 11 M’elodie loudspeakers, while a cardioid array of three flown 600-HP subwoofers provides low end. Two UPJ-1PVariO loudspeakers provide down fill, two UPQ-1P loudspeakers provide stall fill, and 16 UP-4XP loudspeakers cover front and box fill.

Sammy Hagar Concert Heard via Ironman Sound Industries’ Martin Audio W8LC System

ST. LOUIS, MO – Ironman Sound Industries (ISI) recently supported a sold-out Sammy Hagar concert with a Martin Audio W8LC speaker system. The company supplied 32 W8LCs for the main hang, 24 W8LMs for outfill, 4 W8LMDs for frontfill and 24 WSX subs. ISI president Bob Horner, who served as production manager for the ISI team during the show, noted that FOH engineer Tony Luna and JH Audio’s Jerry Harvey both credited the system for its sound quality.

Carsten Kümmel Uses Lawo mc²56 Console at Thurn & Taxis Classic Festival

REGENSBURG, Germany – Sound engineer Carsten Kümmel handled classical production duties as house engineer Lawo mc²56 console at this year’s Thurn & Taxis Classic Festival (Schlossfestspiele). Among the performances he mixed were Guiseppe Verdi’s Rigoletto, soprano Angela Gheorghiu and the Symphonic Orchestra from Hof, Germany.  Guest mix engineers including Giora Feidman also found the console easy to use.
